    Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before heading out to explore Qatar’s hidden places.

    What is Qatar Unseen?

Qatar Unseen is a free guide and directory to the lesser-known side of Qatar — quiet beaches, desert landmarks, heritage villages, mangroves, local cafés and experiences — with locations, opening details and practical tips for each place.

Are the places free to visit?

Many are free, such as most beaches, forts and viewpoints. Others, like museums, desert tours or resorts, charge an entry fee. Each listing shows the cost so you know before you go.

Do I need a 4x4 to reach these places?

Most places are reachable by a normal car. Desert spots such as the Inland Sea (Khor Al Adaid) and some northern beaches need a 4x4 or a licensed tour operator — we mark this in the “Getting there” section of each place.

When is the best time to explore Qatar?

November to March is the most comfortable time for outdoor trips. In summer, plan beach and desert visits for early morning or around sunset and focus on indoor places like museums during the day.

Can I suggest a hidden place?

Yes. Use the “Submit a spot” form to send us a place with a short description and, if you like, your own photo. We review every submission and credit you on the listing.

Know a place nobody talks about?

Share your favourite hidden spot in Qatar and we’ll add it to the map with credit to you. Own a café, camp or tour company? Get featured.
